This requires a healthy, receptive uterus and ovary, in order to implant an embryo and develop it to full term.
I am here to help you achieve this, using fertility acupuncture and fertility and lifestyle advice.
Let’s not forget the other half of the equation! The sperm! I am also here to help your partner achieve his optimum fertility.
My commitment to you is to get an answer as to why you may have issues conceiving and make sure no stone has been left unturned to answer this question.
If you’ve been trying to conceive for a while, you’ll know how all-consuming it becomes. Every month feels high-stakes. You may have had tests come back “normal” but nothing is happening. Or you’re preparing for — or recovering from — IVF, and you want to do everything possible to support your body.
This is exactly who I work with. And it’s the area of my practice I’m most deeply trained and experienced in.
As a specialist fertility acupuncturist in St Albans, I bring a level of knowledge and focus that goes well beyond general acupuncture practice.
When you’re searching for fertility acupuncture, you’ll find many local practitioners — but not all acupuncturists have the same level of fertility-specific training. Fertility is a specialist field, and the depth of knowledge your practitioner brings to your care can make a real difference to your outcomes.
I hold an Advanced Diploma in Fertility Support from Naava Carman, one of the UK’s leading experts in fertility acupuncture. This is a post-graduate qualification that goes far beyond the fertility content covered in a standard acupuncture degree. It covers complex fertility cases including unexplained infertility, recurrent miscarriage, IVF support, low sperm count, and pregnancy over 40 — integrating Western medical diagnostics with traditional Chinese medicine to give you a genuinely comprehensive level of care.
A generalist acupuncturist may offer acupuncture as part of a broad practice. What they are unlikely to offer is the ability to review your test results and identify what may be missing, guide you through the timing windows of an IVF cycle, recognise when a DNA fragmentation test or reproductive immunology referral is needed, or advise on how microbiome health may be affecting implantation. This is the difference specialist training makes — and it’s why I invested in mine.
I am also an official affiliate clinic of The Fertility Suite, founded by Rachel Sherriff. The Fertility Suite is a network of vetted, specialist fertility practitioners who collaborate on complex cases and share the latest developments in reproductive medicine. Affiliate status is not automatic — it reflects a recognised standard of specialist practice.
If you are trying to conceive naturally or through IVF in the St Albans or Hertfordshire area and are looking for an acupuncturist with dedicated fertility expertise, I offer an initial 90-minute fertility assessment for £150, covering a full review of your fertility health, test results, and a personalised treatment plan.

Underlying conditions
Acupuncture is particularly effective for conditions that impact fertility, including PMOS (PCOS), endometriosis, adenomyosis and unexplained infertility.
Your initial fertility assessment is 90 minutes. We go beyond the surface and look at the full picture:
After your consultation you receive a written plan covering recommended investigations, specialist referrals, nutrition and supplement guidance, lifestyle recommendations, and your acupuncture treatment plan.
One of the most common things I hear from patients is that they’ve been told everything looks fine — and yet nothing is happening. Gaps in investigation are common, particularly in NHS fertility pathways where time and funding pressures mean certain tests don’t get run.
I review what has been tested and identify what hasn’t. This might include thyroid antibodies, vitamin D, sperm DNA fragmentation, microbiome testing, or specialist Doppler imaging to identify adenomyosis or oestrogen dominance.
I work with a trusted network of consultants — reproductive immunologists, urologists and specialist sonographers — and refer you to the right person when needed.
The 90–100 days before egg retrieval or ovulation is the most important window — this is when the egg is maturing. I recommend weekly acupuncture for at least three months, alongside the lifestyle and nutritional changes we agree together.
Acupuncture’s role in fertility and IVF support is an active area of research. Studies have examined its effects on IVF outcomes, uterine blood flow, and conception rates in women with PCOS. Links to key studies are available on the Fertility Resources page.
Can acupuncture improve fertility? Yes. Acupuncture is used to regulate hormones, improve blood flow to the reproductive organs, reduce cortisol — which directly disrupts ovulation — and support overall cycle health. It also helps manage underlying conditions like PCOS and endometriosis that affect fertility.
How does acupuncture help with IVF? Acupuncture is often used alongside IVF to prepare the body before egg collection, support implantation around embryo transfer, and reduce side effects, maintaining wellbeing throughout the process. I’m specifically trained in IVF support protocols and use evidence-informed treatment timing.
What if my test results have all come back normal? This is one of the most common situations I see. “Normal” results don’t always mean everything has been properly investigated. I review what has been done and identify what may have been missed — and I frequently find important gaps. Additionally, NHS reference ranges are designed to identify disease in the general population, not to assess what’s optimal for fertility — so a result that looks normal on paper may still be worth investigating further in the context of conception
Can acupuncture help with PCOS? Yes. Acupuncture helps regulate the menstrual cycle, encourage ovulation, and address the hormonal imbalances underlying PCOS. It works well alongside dietary and lifestyle changes.
Can acupuncture help with endometriosis and fertility? Acupuncture won’t remove endometrial tissue, but it reduces inflammation and pain associated with endometriosis and supports a more receptive uterine environment — both of which can improve fertility outcomes.
Do you support male fertility too? Yes. Sperm health accounts for around half of all fertility challenges. I support male partners with acupuncture, lifestyle guidance, and referrals for specialist testing including DNA fragmentation.
How many sessions do I need? I recommend weekly sessions for a minimum of three months where possible. You’ll have a realistic treatment plan from your first appointment.
