Fertility Resources — Guides, Research and Support

Everything in one place to help you feel informed, prepared and supported on your fertility journey.

Navigating fertility can feel overwhelming. There is a lot of information out there — and a lot of conflicting advice. This page brings together the resources I recommend most often to my patients: free guides from The Fertility Suite, links to research on fertility acupuncture, and trusted organisations I refer to regularly.

Free fertility guides from The Fertility Suite

As an affiliate clinic of The Fertility Suite, I work alongside a collaborative network of specialist fertility practitioners — gynaecologists, reproductive immunologists, nutritionists, counsellors and more — who share one goal: leaving no stone unturned in supporting you to conceive.

The Fertility Suite offers a library of free downloadable guides covering topics including:

  • Understanding your fertility investigations
  • IVF preparation and what to ask your clinic
  • Nutrition and supplements for fertility
  • Male fertility and sperm health
  • Recurrent miscarriage — causes and next steps
  • Endometriosis and fertility
  • PCOS and fertility

The Fertility Suite Podcast

The Fertility Suite Podcast is an excellent resource for anyone going through a challenging fertility journey — particularly if you’ve been told you have unexplained infertility, have had repeated failed IVF cycles, or have experienced recurrent pregnancy loss.

The podcast interviews leading experts from across the world of fertility medicine, covering topics that are often not discussed in standard NHS pathways. It’s designed to give you the knowledge to ask the right questions and make informed decisions about your own care.

Research on acupuncture and fertility

Below are links to key research I refer to when patients ask about the evidence base for fertility acupuncture. This list is updated periodically.

Acupuncture and IVF outcomes Research has examined acupuncture’s effects on IVF success rates, particularly around embryo transfer. Studies have looked at uterine blood flow, implantation rates, and stress markers during the IVF process.

British Acupuncture Council — Fertility Evidence Summary

Acupuncture Fertility Network — Research

Acupuncture and PCOS Studies have explored acupuncture’s role in regulating menstrual cycles, supporting ovulation, and reducing androgen levels in women with PCOS.

BMJ Open – Acupuncture & Fertility Research in PCOS

Journal of Health Psychology – Acupuncture & Ovulation in PCOS

BMJ Open – Acupuncture & Ovarian Reserve Research

Acupuncture and endometriosis Research has looked at acupuncture’s anti-inflammatory effects and its role in reducing pain and improving quality of life for women with endometriosis.

If you’d like to discuss specific research relevant to your situation, please raise this at your appointment — I’m happy to go through the evidence with you.

The best way to prepare for getting pregnant naturally is for your body and mind to be at their very best health.

This requires a healthy, receptive uterus and ovary, in order to implant an embryo and develop it to full term.

I am here to help you achieve this, using fertility acupuncture and fertility and lifestyle advice.

Let’s not forget the other half of the equation! The sperm! I am also here to help your partner achieve his optimum fertility.

My commitment to you is to get an answer as to why you may have issues conceiving and make sure no stone has been left unturned to answer this question.

"I have been seeing Ilana weekly for over a year following a three year struggle to conceive and I was about to embark on an intensive IVF journey. I had experienced two very early miscarriages and a struggle to fall pregnant naturally. My cycle was irregular and unhealthy, but after a few treatments with Ilana this returned and is the healthiest it had ever been. I whole heartedly believe that it was Accupuncture that made this difference and supported me in falling pregnant. I continued to see Ilana throughout my pregnancy and can honestly say I have had a healthy straightforward pregnancy to date. Ilana is great at what she does and really helps investigate and uncover any other underlying reasons why you may be having fertility issues. I couldn’t recommend Ilana enough. 😌 "
