If you’re lying awake at 3am, peeling off layers in meetings, or wondering where your memory went, you’re not imagining it, and you’re not alone.
I’m Ilana, and I’ve been through perimenopause and menopause myself. I know how exhausting and bewildering it can feel, and how much it helps to be truly listened to rather than told it’s just your age.
In my calm garden clinic in Bricket Wood, I offer acupuncture alongside practical, personalised advice to help you feel more like yourself again.
If you ticked even one of these, I’d love to help.
My approach is to help bring your body back into balance. Each session focuses on calming your nervous system, supporting better sleep and easing the symptoms that are bothering you most.
I look at the whole picture: your symptoms, sleep, stress, nutrition, lifestyle and any blood tests you’ve had. I’ll also flag anything worth checking with your GP or a menopause specialist, and I’m happy to refer you on when you need medical support.
Alongside acupuncture, I may use ear seeds, moxibustion, gua sha or therapeutic red light where helpful.
Acupuncture works happily alongside HRT. It’s also a supportive option if you can’t take HRT or would prefer not to. I’ll always ask about any medication you take, and I’ll never suggest changing it without speaking to your doctor.
What to expect
Many patients tell me they notice a difference within a few sessions. A typical course is six to twelve weekly treatments.
My approach is to help bring your body back into balance, calm your nervous system and support better sleep. Research into acupuncture for menopause symptoms, especially hot flushes, is growing. Many of my patients tell me they feel calmer, sleep better and find their symptoms easier to live with.
Absolutely. Acupuncture works happily alongside HRT and other medication. I'll always ask what you're taking at your first appointment.
Acupuncture is a gentle, supportive option for women who can't take HRT or prefer not to. I'll also point you towards a menopause specialist if you'd like to talk through your medical options.
Perimenopause can start in your early forties, sometimes earlier, often years before your periods stop. Changes in sleep, mood, cycle length or heavier periods can all be early signs. If you're unsure, we can talk it through on a free discovery call.
It's one of the most common things I hear. I've written a whole blog post on it: Why Do I Keep Waking Up at 3am During Perimenopause?
Most women come weekly to begin with. A typical course is six to twelve sessions, then we space treatments out as you feel better.
